Owner problems ….?
My friend came to me the other day and said I can live with you for a while, I said yes, but why? Here is where the problem comes in, your landlord is not responsible for the property. No fumeagate, the channel is hanging on the side of the house, through the cables comeing walls, no oven, carpet is something I could not imagine, the windows are not accessible, and there is a hole in the ground. She has this place because it was affordable and could be her little dog. All your furniture is in ruins, infested with insects. She knew the owner through his father for what he said a lease has not was "vital." She wants to sue him for no spraying, property destroyed and mental stress. Can you? I thought that after 30 days if the owner did not have a lease that was supposed to start out. Is there anything I can do? Take photos to a lawyer?
She has a verbal legal agreement as a tenant. She may complain to the housing authority and must have the health department sent an inspector to record. With it has a dog, this could become a problem the dog could have ruined their furniture. The other problem is whether the APT was so bad in the first place, why did she live there. The owner is not required to boot someone out of the rent unless he feels that there is a problem. Apparently, this is an owner who is not any more. Would have to show that the APT was well when he went to live otherwise the judge will dismiss the case and would be wasting the courts time.
