Winter Flooding What can your Home Kansas – and what you can do about it

When you think flooding usually think of homes along the coast. Memories of Hurricane Katrina and the visions of overflowing rivers fill your mind. What I do not usually think about is flooding in central Kansas, but with the amount of snow that adorned the plains of Kansas this year is a very real threat, and that owners should not ignore.

The first thing that any Kansas owner should do is look at the potential sources of flood insurance. Most homeowners insurance providers are hesitant to insure your home against floods, but coming as a result of melting snow, which means they may have difficulty finding quality coverage and the greatest danger of this type flood does not reach him, but to your belongings. Your basement can never be the same!
