The Gutter leaf guards are designed to keep leaves out of gutters. This is because the leaves block the water in the stream making it overflow. The Gutter leaf guards are not just for the leaves, which keep out debris and other objects falling on the roof. In addition, to prevent debris from rolling into the gutter or people's yards.
There are several types of leaf gutter guards. These are screens of channel models and surface tension. Gutter screens are characterized by a mesh that acts as a sieve, which is a barrier to leaves and debris. Rain water flows past the mesh ensuring gutters are always clean. Gutter screens have different sizes of holes and it allows users to choose the right size they want. Gutter holes with big screens suitable for larger debris and sticks while smaller holes are ideal for leaves and small stones. Gutter screens are not as effective. However, since they have small holes to prevent small debris such as sand, which restrict the larger debris and leaves. Another problem is that they need Routine cleaning of the debris restricted. This is because if the leaves and debris accumulate, the holes are closed and restricting water flow through the rubble and this causing flooding in the ceiling. Clean channel screens is not annoying, rather than on a sunny day, when the debris that has accumulated on the mesh is dry.

The surface tension models are more expensive than the screens channel and this causes the most common gutter screens as most people prefer the cheaper guards stream of the blade.
