pumpkin roots??

I have a pumpkin garden and my plants are getting big. the vine has started to grow and have a leak going threw my garden to get remove the rainwater that seeps through the sewers. pumpkin my roots are right next to the drain and the roots are out of hiding and are above ground because the drain water is deep and the water runs continuously threw dirt drags and roots are showin … I the same problem with corn also grows along the drain …. Is this right if the roots are above ground?

They are looking for food (water). If you grow a plant in JUST liquid (water and liquid food) THEY CALL IT HYDROPONIC gardening. This may be a problem with your drain pipe.
