How can I make takeoffs in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008?

I need to perform takeoffs from a DWG file. No elevations assigned contour lines, is 2D. Here, you have to allocate increases the contour lines. Then I need to perform a calculation to determine the volume of earth excavation and borrow amounts. In addition, I also need to determine the area of sections of pavement that are receiving, with layers of material. Here, you must determine the area of the sidewalk and implement a proposal of surface displacement to adjust the amount of land movement In order to take these into account material thickness. To find the length of the line, simply highlight the line in question and view its properties, one of which is duration. Or, use the "say" command to measure the distance. In terms of volumes, first have to create a surface. This is done using Explorer terrain model on the desktop of the earth, and I believe Civil 3D is similar. Judging by their questions, need someone help with the creation of surfaces. It would be too complicated to explain here. Hope that was started.
