Finally, check the warranty. For channels and accessories, look for a warranty that runs at least 20 years, though a lifetime backing is preferable. Labor, one year of coverage is minimal. Also make sure the contractor has completion insurance, which continues channel coverage if you leave the business.
To ensure proper installation, checking references, and the unit finished jobs. Ask their friends, neighbors and coworkers for suggestions. Check the website local Better Business Bureau. These are all good resources. You may also contact with professional associations, the yellow pages, Internet or advertisements in your local area. Just make sure you choose one with extensive knowledge and experience with a variety of sewer systems and has an iron-clad policy of standing behind their products and installation. You also want to make sure your contractor is:
- licensed, insured and bonded
- financially stable
- a authorized installer of a particular system
- committed to quality control and safety procedures
