Time-saving methods for cleaning mini blinds

First, for the occasional clean down, you can buy a mini blind cleaner or duster in any discount store or other gadget stores (Ace Hardware carries these, too). It is a plastic device hand with five or six "fingers" which are covered with a soft, fleece-like, absorbent powder material. You just run this over the mini blind slats, and may the dust of five or six of them at once.

Consumption can be quickly and that should remove the device when it reaches the center of strings. You can also buy an attachment for your vacuum cleaner (see amerimark.com, for example) that runs on the same basic principle: the tablet placed between the "fingers" and cleaned by moving the device along the slats.

In fact, a quick vacuuming occasional cleaning will keep the excess accumulation of dust to a minimum, and must make your newspaper more thorough cleaning easier. As an alternative technique, you can simply wind mini blinds to the closed position and clean with a dust rag, using your favorite dusting spray.

Deep Cleaning Blinds

There are several techniques you can use for a more thorough cleaning of your mini blinds. One of them is to remove the blinds from the brackets and soak in a tub (some people use a section of gutter) of warm water, dish detergent, and ammonia (although, if your mini blinds are color, it is possible want to omit the ammonia).

Let the blinds soak for an hour or two, then remove the tub and let drain for about an hour (it is possible you want to become upright and slightly separated to allow better drainage). This should remove even the dirt of fat that can accumulate in kitchen mini-blinds.
